Vice President - Lead Underwriter & Portfolio Manager

In my current role, I lead a team of underwriters who support the bank's secured real estate lines of business. These lending opportunities include single asset finance as well as multi-asset portfolios. My team covers all the major asset classes and loan structures (term, construction, recourse, etc.).
Previously I served as a Lead Underwriter for the bank's Institutional Specialties group which focuses on REIT, REIF, and Mortgage Warehouse finance. Scope includes both secured and unsecured structures and includes all major asset types (multifamily, industrial, office, retail, etc.).
Prior to my role in Institutional Specialties, I specialized in multifamily and student housing asset finance. Responsible for underwriting over $3.5B in loans (permanent and construction) for institutional grade assets across the country for both new and existing relationships.
Directs and coordinates with both internal and external teams throughout the underwriting process from application to close.
Assists junior underwriters and analysts in their development.

2019 ACE Award recipient for my efforts overhauling the bank's interest only policy which included executing certain deliverables in tight timeframes and demonstrating sound judgement in defining the new policy and its parameters.
2016 ACE Award recipient for designing, building, and implementing the multifamily underwriting model unifying Capital One's three major multifamily lines of business.

Teaching an ACCSB accredited program covering Special Topics in Finance to upperclassmen and graduate students.
Lectures cover financial modeling, underwriting, and risk mitigation.
Coursework is designed to leverage academic fundamentals and demonstrate how they translate to real-world application.

Participated in a rotational program with Capital One's Commercial Bank.
Prepared credit packages for underwriting inclusive of financial performance, industry research, peer analysis, and many other areas for credit consideration.
Supported ten underwriters across various industries on a daily basis
Gained meaningful experience with various middle market clientele with a focus in Maritime, Gaming, and Not-for-Profit.

Selected to participate in a nationally recognized securities research program.
Responsible for producing cash flow and earnings models, as well as developing peer comparisons and working with other valuation tools.
